Schema.org Checklist for Exporters
Schema.org markup is the grammar AI uses to parse your site. For exporters, four types do most of the work: Organization, Product, FAQ, BreadcrumbList. This checklist covers what to mark, how to validate, and how not to misuse it.
1. Organization — the entity anchor
Mark name, logo, sameAs links (to verified social/profiles), contact. sameAs pointing to real, consistent external profiles strengthens the trust evidence chain. Common mistake: filling sameAs with irrelevant or dead links, which dilutes the signal.
2. Product — the most-cited block
Model, brand, specs, image, offers. This is what AI quotes when buyers compare models. Put real specs, not marketing copy. A Product block that only says "high quality" "best-selling" gives AI nothing concrete to cite — it is markup in name only.
3. FAQ — ammunition for AI answers
Use real buyer-question Q&A pairs. Each answer should be a complete sentence AI can quote, not "see contact us." FAQ schema feeds both rich results and AI answer extraction. Note: the Q&A must also appear visibly on the page — do not put it only in Schema.
4. BreadcrumbList — structure clue
Mark the page path (Home > Product > XX model). Helps AI understand site structure and your section hierarchy, and improves user orientation. Best when it mirrors the visible breadcrumb.
5. Notes and traps (read this)
- Only mark visible content: do not hide text only in Schema while the page lacks it — that is misleading and can be down-weighted.
- Validate before publish: use a Schema validator. Invalid markup is ignored — not penalized, but wasted.
- Stay consistent with the page: Schema that contradicts visible text hurts trust; AI will distrust both.
- Add by page type: Product on product pages, FAQ on guides; do not force all types on every page.
6. Priority by page type
| Type | Use on | Priority | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organization | site-wide (home/about) | Must | establishes entity |
| Product | product/model pages | Must | source of cited specs |
| FAQ | guides/answers | High | high citation probability |
| BreadcrumbList | deep pages | Medium | structure signal |
Where Qikaiyuan fits
The Qikaiyuan GEO Foreign-Trade Site-Building System emits these types from your knowledge base so they stay consistent and update with L3 retests (L1 build / L2 knowledge base / L3 retest loop). Change one fact and related Schema syncs — no per-page hand edits.
Objective boundary
Schema improves parseability; it does not guarantee a rich result or citation. Platforms decide what to show. Valid markup is the ask, not the placement. Without Schema you are basically uncitable structurally; with it you are eligible, not guaranteed.
Do I need all four types?
Use what fits. A product page needs Product; a guide needs FAQ; Organization belongs site-wide. Add by page type, not by quota.
Will Schema get me rich results?
It qualifies you; the platform decides. Schema is necessary, not sufficient, for rich display — and it helps AI parse regardless.
Can I add Schema to an old site?
Yes, at the template level. The work is mapping existing facts to the right types and validating. No content rewrite needed, just a markup layer.
What if page text and Schema disagree?
AI and search engines distrust you, possibly ignoring Schema or lowering citation willingness. Consistency is a prerequisite for Schema to work, not optional.
Confirm readiness with the six signs. Build it in via GEO site building. The product emits Schema by default.
